Ensure breaking news is posted asap
Echobox has an effective Breaking News Detection Engine built into the platform. Echobox will recognize breaking news and share within 15 minutes.
Although this process works well for most Echobox users, it might miss certain specific breaking news. To ensure it captures all your breaking news, you can specify keyword rules.
Any content with a specified keyword in the URL can be set to be shared as soon as possible (this can be done by adding a keyword to Automation > Page > New shares > Keywords: share as soon as possible).
CAUTION:
- This will supersede any other keyword rules
- Even if New Share Mode is Off, content matching this criteria will still be shared
- The post won’t be timing optimised
- Echobox can't determine an optimal volume because it will just share all content that matches your specific keywords
- It removes our ability to increase your traffic for these posts because it must share 100% of this content immediately
- As soon as possible means as soon as Echobox has retrieved your latest content from your RSS feeds, which might take up to 15 minutes. This means that if 2 articles are published within the same 5 minute period, it will share one post immediately after the other, potentially hurting the performance of both posts (and cannibalise each other’s performance)
- Echobox won't be able to exclude content from being shared
Note that any content that triggers these keywords will be assumed to be breaking news, and our automation will never try to reshare it.
How do I make sure Breaking News isn’t shared late?
Content automatically classified as Breaking won’t be shared more than 1 hour after its publication time. If this timeframe isn’t suitable for you it can be customised by discussing with your Customer Success representative. It is also possible to customise the maximum allowable share time for content classified as Normal. However, this can reduce the effectiveness of Echobox’s optimised sharing.
